Storm to Pass Empty Storm to Pass

Hey guys! This is my new story called Storm to Pass and I hope you like it! Be sure to leave some comments on what you think of it! Enjoy!

    Storm to Pass

    Weddings.

Every girl’s favorite day. Whether it’s the bride, bridesmaid, or just a simple girl watching from the pews, they live for this magical day. It’s what they dreamed of as little girls, playing “Wedding” with their teddy bears and dolls. As they grow older, they start daydreaming of this day and planning it for numerous hours without even a groom in sight. They dream of that one day where all eyes are on her, not a care in the world, and getting to marry her knight in shining armor. A wedding is every girl’s fantasy. The second the engagement ring comes out is when she runs to get the latest bridal magazines and puts the best wedding planners on speed dial. Weddings are a girl’s thing.

Men’s views on weddings however are very different. They could care less about matching decorations or the color of their tuxedo. If it were up to them, they’d want to get it done at City Hall so they could make it home in time for the football game. If guys could have it their way they’d get married in jeans and a regular t-shirt. But, this isn’t Burger King, and they can’t have it their way. The groom is supposed to just stand there, look handsome, and try to not look for the nearest escape route.

A wedding is more than just the vows and saying “I do”. The countless hours aren’t wasted on that. They’re wasted on getting the right kind of flowers, the right kind of food to serve at the reception, the right kind of alcohol to serve, or the right kind of music to play. Hell the list could go on. It takes months to achieve perfection that will leave people talking about that day for years to come. The bride and groom however will remember it for the rest of her life.

“Ladies! It’s time to toss the bouquet!” the newly wedded Valary Sanders announced loudly as she held on tightly to the oddly colored bouquet.

It was the wedding day of Matt Sanders and Valary DiBendetto. They were high school sweethearts that have never been able to unglue themselves from each other’s hips. They were a match made in Heaven. Everyone in the reception could just feel the love between the newlyweds and could sense that they’ll be the couple that will never be apart. No matter how crazy Matt’s touring schedule or Valary’s filming schedule would get, they would always be together until the end. Matt would do anything for his new bride as long as she was happy. Val never had a frown on her face when she was around the love of her life. And today they finally made their love a whole. The entire wedding was beautiful. It was set outside in the sunlight and everything just seemed to fit right in place for the perfect couple.

Kaitlyn Haner looked at her boyfriend who sat next to her, and gave him pleading eyes. Zachary Baker dropped his fork that was working his way into the piece of chicken and smiled sweetly at her. The couple had been together since their senior year of high school. They have always had their ups and downs but there was always something that seemed to bring them back together. Zack always thought the world of this girl and there was never a thing to shatter that perfect image of her. There is always something new about Kaitlyn that surprised Zack every time. They know each other’s secrets and bad habits and fantasies. There wasn’t a thing that they didn’t know about each other, sometimes they could finish each other’s sentences. Sounds cheesy but to them it meant everything.

“Go on sweetheart. Bring us home the gold” he spoke quietly before placing his chapped lips against her forehead.

The small girl stood up and straightened out her purple bridesmaid dress and drank the last bit of her red wine. She placed her little purple purse on the table and made her way to the center of the dance floor where Val was patiently waiting for all the girls to gather. Kaitlyn was waiting with all of her closest girlfriends that she grew up knowing. She smoothed down her dress and prepared herself to grab that set of flowers.

“Alright! Here it goes! 1…2…3!”Val shouted with her back now to the crowd as she threw the feather looking bouquet over her shoulder.

All the women in the crowd watched as the bouquet floated in the air. All the eyes were fixated on the target, ready to catch it. It seemed like it was going to take forever to finally fall into someone’s hands. Kaitlyn carefully turned to the left and jumped in front of her brother’s girlfriend, Michelle, and gracefully caught it in her small hands. She threw her hands up in victory, with a huge smile plastered on her face. The entire reception hall clapped and cheered at her.

“Looks like you’re next Baker!” Jimmy Sullivan shouted from his table. Jimmy was always the loud one of the group and everyone seemed to love him. He’s always been a good friend to the couple and couldn’t wait for the two to finally be married. He figured it’s been far too long. Jimmy loved Kaitlyn like a sister seeing as she was his best friend’s sister.

Zacky sat at the table and let out a sigh with a smile while shaking his head. Leave it to his best friend to make a comment like that. He never believed in the whole marriage thing. If he loved a person like he did with Kaitlyn then what’s the point of getting married? He only saw it as just a piece of paper with their names at the bottom. And Zacky Baker sure as hell wasn’t going to let a wedding myth force him into something he didn’t believe in. He knew that Kaitlyn knew that he loved her so why get married?

Kaitlyn quickly walked over to their table and flashed the bouquet in her boyfriend’s face who seemed to be concentrating on his thoughts.

“Look what I got!” the brunette exclaimed as she sat back down in her seat. Zacky smiled at her and took it from her little grasp. He examined the piece and handed it back to her.

“Good job honey. Just don’t get any ideas on what is supposedly means”

That was like a mirror being smashed into a million pieces. She figured with her catching the bouquet it would finally give him a boost to move to the next step in their relationship. Kaitlyn had spent numerous nights wondering when he would finally ask the question. She waited and waited and got nothing. She wondered why it was so hard for him to commit.

“Yeah I know…” she spoke quietly, looking down at the bouquet, feeling heartbroken.

He placed his arm around her waist and placed another kiss on the head. He loved her but he just wasn’t ready for it. The wedding soon calmed down and people were starting to leave. Matt and Val eventually took a limo which lead directly to the airport so they could begin their perfect honeymoon.

“C’mon, let’s go home” he whispered quietly before taking her hand and standing up, straightening out his tuxedo.

They said their goodbyes to his bandmates and their friends. Johnny made sure to be the last one to say goodbye to Kaitlyn.

“Hey, we’ll have to hangout one day. Maybe grab a drink and go walk the pier?” he suggested shyly as he ran his tattooed hand through his hair.

Johnny Seward was beyond in love with Kaitlyn but never said anything because she was always Zacky’s girlfriend. He always thought he could treat her better than Zack but he never once made a move. He respected the Bro Code but there were times where he wanted to toss the code away and just make his move. Then again, he didn’t think Kaitlyn ever saw him in that way. He always made sure though that he’d be there for her no matter what but he always waited for that chance to finally say how he felt.

“Sure that’d be great!” she smiled widely before giving him a big hug. He was her best friend. He was the one she always went to when she had a problem with Zack or just needed someone to talk to in general. She’d tell Zack things but it got to the point where it didn’t seem like he really cared. She took her talks with Johnny for granted and loved every single one of them because he always knew the right thing to say to her to make her feel better.

“Cool, I guess I’ll see you later then” he smiled softly at the young girl as Zacky escorted her away before she could say anything else.

The couple laced their fingers together as they made their way to the exit. Nothing was spoken between the two, it was just silence. Kaitlyn felt defeated in this whole game. She would forever be loved but she saw herself as not marriage material. She would eventually have to swallow all of her pride and accept it. As long as he was happy, so was she. Zacky opened the door of his black SUV for his girlfriend and she quickly got into it. He ran to his side and they were off to their house. The whole ride home Kaitlyn thought of numerous ways to get Zacky Baker to finally propose. It was going to be a tough battle but in the end, it’d be worth it.

Oh wow....Katie, can I say your writing is almost impeccable, except for some changes in tense from past to present in some places, I love this.

I feel bad for FicKatie...what an idiot Zacky is.

This is really good, I want to read more.
