Title explains it all. Last movie/movies you have seen. It could be like the "what are you listening to now" thread, but to post in a forum while a movie is going on is a sacrilege (unless it is Marmaduke).

Hurt Locker, Black Swan, Schindler's List.

I had a truly spectacular movie day when I was ill at the weekend. Christmas Mail (schmaltzy Festive rom com), Magma: Volcano Disaster and Spring Break Shark Attack. Being ill retards my taste in movies.

Just came back earlier from seeing Tron: Legacy in 3D. Really enjoyed it, it's not exactly Shakespeare lol and the dubious effects for 'young' Jeff Bridges stick out like a sore thumb against the beautiful graphics elsewhere but it was fun and immersive and for once didn't make me angry they picked up where something left off in the eighties Smile

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
I love this movie infinitely more now that I have taken a course on scriptwriting. How the fuck was this movie written? Genius.

Black Swan (at long last) and my god it didn't disappoint. I was either on the edge of my seat or cowering back from the screen almost the entire time and it takes a rare quality to achieve both of those in one movie.

Andy, what you said about Arronofsky having changed Natalie Portman was so true, but I think the moment that sold it for me when she was completing her "homework assignment". That was so real, right down to the sheer panic when she looks to the chair.

It's definitely a great piece of work, and I think Portman is definitely deserving of recognition for this one.

I think the best thing I can say about this movie is that I spent zero time whatsoever trying to second guess it and figure out what was going on, I was too busy freaking out at the atmosphere being built by the quick stabs of incidental music followed by total silence.

Just watched "easy A" and gotta say for a chick flick it wasn't half bad. It was pretty clever and Emma stone was pretty good in it. May be one of the better chick flicks I've seen ever.

I watched Easy A last week and loved it. I am not a chick flick kinda girl at all, but I adore Emma Stone, she's brilliant and she certainly was in Easy A.

Couple of parts felt a little off, including the Chlamydia storyline, but other than that I thought it was pretty solid.

Saw gulliver's travels today at the theater. I had low expectations after just seeing grown ups and little fockers *shudders*, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't a great movie but it was funny enough to keep my interest. If you don't like jack black, you will not like this movie. If you enjoy movies with jack black, you will like this. As I said not great but a good enough movie to keep ur interest and making you laugh. I'm about to watch inception and the other guys so I'll be back to give my impressions.

I love Easy A but I think I kinda don't think of it as a chick flick...I think in my mind chick flicks are OTT weepie kinda things lol, I would just describe Easy A as a teen comedy. There were a load of guys in the screening I went to and they loved it. Or maybe they just loved Emma Stone Cool but that still counts Smile

I think I'm one of the few people who neither loves nor hates Jack Black. My friend totally fancies him (no I can't explain Smile ) so I've seen a load of his films with her including a FREEZING outdoor screening of School of Rock and I only sometimes find him funny but he doesn't bug me so I'm sure I could sit through Gulliver's Travels...though I might have to block out Catherine Tate.

Justin I hope you like Inception, I absolutely love that film

I'm back from watching inception. It may be my favorite movie of all time. It is awesome. I'll write an actual review later. I also watched the other guys. I liked it, it was pretty funny. Overall today I saw 3 movies and liked all of them. Inception was obviously my favorite of the 3, but the other guys was a pretty good comedy and gulliver's travels was a good comedy as well.

Recently I watched Get Him To The Greek.
It was alright. Kind of funny. I bring this up because I need a second opinion.
What the fuck was up with the ending? Jonah Hill tells Russel not to go on stage, but why the fuck not? Because of the broken arm? A bit earlier he was rushing him to the stage after jumping off the roof. And why the hell not? I mean, after that entire trip to the greek theater and jonah hill trying to be the hero. I don't fucking get that part. It ruined the movie for me.

Really glad you loved Inception, I saw it three times at the cinema! and I got it on blu-ray for Christmas. Also voted JGL's corridor fight as my scene of the year in a poll Smile

I laughed at Get Him To The Greek, I didn't think I would find it funny but my friend and I surprisingly laughed a lot at it - I'm not sure if I would feel the same on a repeat viewing but it definitely worked in the moment. Re: the not going on stage thing, is it not something to do with him realising going back on stage like that won't actually help him, it would only have helped them? (can't totally remember)

Ohhhhhhhhh okay that makes sense then.
It was still a lame part that wasn't necessary but it finally makes sense now. Thanks.

Finally got my ass around to watching Requiem for a Dream yesterday and loved it. My appreciation for Jared Leto as an actor has once again gone through the roof, and Aronofsky is up there on my great directors list for making me care about an actor I normally can't stand.

Ellyn Burstyn was a revelation in this movie, can't praise her highly enough.

Also watched Where the Wild Things Are. Fabulous movie, so beautiful. As a kid after my parents split I lost myself in fantasy worlds, so it brought that back for me. I'd totally watch it again. The voice cast were fab, it's hard to be emotive when you are covered in a gigantic hairy monster suit, but they did it beautifully.
