The Best Song on "City of Evil"

What is full of darkness, despair and anguish? What is a place that is always tormenting? Over an hour long experience that consists of rage and passion?
No, I'm not talking about a night at Tiger Woods' house. This is City Of Evil: The mark of a significant change in the bands' sound.

What do you guys feel is the best song on this album? Let us know!

Sorry guys. I had to combine two songs to fit under ten poll selections, so I've combined the shortest song on the album with another. Plus, you can always discuss it here. Just think of those songs as freakish Siamese twins who are very metal.

Difficult choice with this album, but I went with sidewinder. I guess I feel sidewinder was their most creative song for this album. I also love the ending, the alternating acoustic solo between syn and his dad is amazing

Woah I've never heard Sidewinder being a favorite. It's a damn good song, so it's not surprising in that aspect.

Yea, it was between sidewinder, Mia, and blinded in chains. Tough choice, but I find myself listening to sidewinder the most out of any of the other songs.

Without a doubt, The Wicked End is my favorite song off this album. A mixture of dark lyrics, amazing riffs, and an outstanding symphony. It's overall a beautiful song in my opinion (:

I went with Trashed and Scattered because I fell in love with that song from the second I heard it but it's a tie for me between that, Wicked End (love the lyrics and the nod to Elfman) and Betrayed - absolutely love that song just generally but especially because of the Dimebag connection.

Now I'm sure I know who you are andigo (sneaky name change by the way) just from reading your replies in these few album threads. *waves*

I too went with Sidewinder cos it was the stand out track for me when I listened to this album the whole way through. I think it was because of the spanish style acoustic solo at the end being so very different from everything that came before or after it, but the fact that it fit so well.

chose wicked end because it is such a great song. its almost like a rollercoaster. it starts out one way then it calms down and then right back into it. love this song.

I sometimes wake up with BC stuck in my head on a loop, even if I didn't listen to A7X before bed.

My favorite song on CoE will always be BATH, but there's really not a bad song on that disc, as far as I'm concerned =)

I'm going to have to go for Bat Country. Everything about it is absolutely mind blowing. When I was just getting into Avenged Sevenfold this was the song that convinced me that they were something special and that they are the saviors of metal.

I'm a Beast and the Harlot girl...but Bat Country blows my mind. When I see videos of Jimmy playing it live, it looks like he's concentrating simply on keeping his hands and feet moving! That song is so fast and there's so much going on, but it's such a GOOD song! Can't go wrong with Bat Country!

The Wicked End. Without a doubt. Amazing lyrics, guitar riffs and such a theatrical symphonic middle piece. M Shadows' voice, the power behind it during that theatrical bit blew my mind when I first heard it. Still does.
